Artificial Environments is a series of meditative video compositions that explore the tension between nature and its digital simulation. Constructed entirely from stock images of natural landscapes sourced online, each scene undergoes a series of intricate digital manipulations—stretching, layering, filtering, and distortion—until the imagery dissolves into something both serene and unreal.

Stripped from their original contexts and processed beyond recognition, these landscapes are no longer depictions of the natural world, but abstractions that exist in a realm of real-world impossibility. They become visual echoes of the sublime—familiar in texture yet fundamentally artificial, evoking a sense of contemplative stillness while gesturing toward the uncanny.

Artificial Environments reflects on the proliferation of mediated nature in the digital age, where access to the natural world is increasingly experienced through screens, stock libraries, and algorithmic aesthetics.
